B. ‘Lilac’ (Preissel, 1993), B. ‘Lilac 1’ and B. ‘Lilac 2’ (both Kirchner-Abel, 2004: 61): from a purely nomenclatural standpoint, these three names may coexist, but it is not clear that they all represent different cultivars. Illustrations of B. ‘Lilac 1’ in Kirchner-Abel et al. (2004: 61) are virtually identical to B. ‘Lilac’ portrayed on the front covers of Preissel & Preissel (1997 & 2001). We accept B. ‘Lilac’, the name published by the originator of these plants, Dr H.-G. Preissel, and ‘Lilac 2’, a different clone.
