What’s the benefit of using dechlorinated water?

Hi! On the cuttings guide for the water method it says to put the cuttings in dechlorinated water. My strategy has been to boil the water then cool it down. I’ve seen others use non dechlorinated water online and it worked out, so I’m curious why it’s in the guide. Also, anyone have any other tips for cuttings? Some variegated cuttings I did didnt work out, I think it was due to their small thickness. Thanks in advance!
