I was fortunately lucky enough to receive a rooted cutting of Sarah S directly from JT last spring. Back when I first started really getting into brugs, I purchased a lot of my plants from Country Gardens, the nursery that JT operated at that time. There have been some of the best brug hybrids coming out of CG, including El Dorado, and a bunch more, (can you tell that I have an idol ? ;) ).
Anyway, Sarah S is a moderate size brug, at least for me, but mine is in a pot, so I figure it would be much larger in the ground, a 3 gallon pot at that. Perfect flower form, nose in the air attitude mostly, and, is an overall nice looking specimen. Not bothered by insects or disease as long as I’ve had her, and the fragrance, tho not overpowering, is a pleasant Aurea smell. But, then again, my sinuses are awful, so it may be stronger than I know.
The thing about this plant is the fact that you never know what color the flowers will be. That’s a good thing. They range in all the brug colors, except white, sometimes all at the same time. What color is it… :smiley-dunno: , in a word, beautiful. I think that this is another plant that has slipped by under the radar, and, should be in every collectors stable. This one will be heavily involved in my quest for that elusive ‘blue brug’, since color change seems to be in her genes, at least to me :icon_rolleyes: . For the serious grower / hybridizer this one is a must have.
