Hello, I’m a super novice looking for recommendations for dark orange with a strong scent. I’m in zone 8b/9a.

Hi Brian!
My Favorite Dark orange is Mandarin Twist. It has a Wonderful scent – on and off – like all Brugmansias but early morning and at night, it is tremendous!
