Overnight, on New Year’s eve, A winter-time bud opened for me and I was greeted this morning by my first home-grown Blushing Ballerina bloom. The plant, a gift from a long-time friend & BGI member will be the first ever Cold Group plant I have managed to grow aside from a couple seedling arboreas years ago. I may have to start growing more of them. They are so cute & forgiving of my chilly conditions. We keep our house heated up to 55 deg F in the winter here.
There are two more buds opening & I can’t wait to see how dark the color will get. Happy New Year !!!!!

It’s been below 10 deg F here since then, But a balmy 55 deg here in the house and although we have has VERY LITTLE glow of light from the sun lately, Blushing Ballerina is trying her best to put out yet another (3rd) set of blooms. I won’t blame her if she can’t. It’s really Cold & Dreary here. Still, I’m Very impressed – And Thank you again Donna for the cutting! We’re having a whole lot of fun. – Trying to get through this winter together. Can’t wait to see what we might do when Spring arrives !
