Erroneously rejected by IBADS, the former ICRA, on the grounds that permission has not been granted to use the name. The Code’s requirement to seek permission to use personal names as cultivar epithets is a recommendation, not a rule, and point 5 in the preamble of the Code indicates that names contrary to recommendations may not on that account be rejected.
